Brickfields was an awesome event held at the legendary Carfax venue in New Town a couple weekends ago..

Once again I got to shoot for the Locally Whipped mag and this time even got to write a little bit for the article! Hahaha, wasn’t much but I ran out of time to put something more long winded together so maybe next time..

I really am enjoying shooting live shows and it just makes it even better when the band is enjoying themselves on the stage too!

Over the past couple of weekends I have been to shoot a couple wakeboarding events..

Man I feel real bad on how late this is going up but things have just been pretty hectic of late! A while back I shot JoziFest 2012 which was a two day event with some amazing acts performing over the two evenings! The friday night was absolutely awesome which took me back to my days when I lived in London with Grooverider (Godfather of Drum n Bass) was out here playing! I’m man enough to admit I shed a tear in the shadows with the memories of being on the DnB floors in the UK.. Man I miss those days!! On the saturday night all the bands were playing on the outdoor floor and it was packed! With the likes of Lark, Tidal Waves, Zebra & Giraffe, Foto na Dans with their last ever performance just to name a few.. If you didn’t get to the event, you really did miss out on something pretty special that’s for sure! If there is one in 2013, make sure you get there!!!

Chinese New Year has just passed and I decided to surprise my wife and take her out to the Nan Hua temple on the east rand to go have a look at the festivities and shoot some photos..

Unfortunately it was so hot that day we ended up spending it at home under the aircon and in the pool and by the time we got to the temple, all the festivities had finished but we still walked around and shot some photos of the temple.. Hope you like the images..

For those of you that don’t know, RAD Motors is the new flagship store for the KTM brand here in South Africa. They are located in a real impressive building as you can see..

I organized with the owners if I could hang around one evening after they closed to shoot a couple of pictures of the outside of the building and also managed to spend some time inside getting a couple of pictures of some really sexy looking pieces of machinery.. Let me know what you think……

Explosive! That is one of the words that could explain the first show i’ve seen of Bloodline’s in ages!!

Its been a while since I saw these guys play and a few things have changed.. Pepe is off the drums now and on a guitar and Trevor is even larger (physically and emotionally) on stage! But as a whole, their presence on stage is phenomenal!! Its just such a pity that the SA Hardcore scene has dipped the way it is.. These guys deserve to be on a big stage with room to move and of course fantastic lights for me to shoot awesome pictures! Really hope I get to see them perform somewhere else and soon!

Well this is something a little different from what I normally go out and shoot..

I decided to head out to the botanical gardens in Roodepoort to relax a bit while on holiday and walk around and shoot whatever I saw and to also play with the new Macro lens Claudia and I got for Xmas from St Nick!

The last image is 4 shots stitched together and was super peaceful sitting there relaxing..

What an amazing display of Xmas spirit! This apparently is an electrician’s house that he has decorated for the season.. So glad I got to see it with my beautiful wife!

There were a constant stream of cars and spectators coming to have a look at the display.. Pretty damn awesome to see!

Claudia decided she wanted to do the Zoo trot a couple of weekends ago so I tagged along with my gear and wandered around shooting while she was working up a sweat..

I don’t generally like zoo’s but they are really trying at the Joburg zoo to further improve the quality of living for the animals and it really is a nice day out for the family..

Now that I have got my lovely wife in to shooting photos with my “hand-me-down” D300 we decided to spend a bit of time at the bird park again shooting..

Well it didn’t pan out as planned because as we got there and started to walk around, I found that my battery was flat.. No problem, I got a spare……. Well that was flat too!!!! *sigh*

I managed to get a couple shots off but then spent the rest of the time carrying the equipment while Claudia shot and I tried to help where I could..

This next pic was awesome, every time I put my bag down, this little guy would come walking over and wanted to eat the bag so Claudia held the bag up and I got down to snap a shot or two before he wanted to grab the lens and then one of the handlers came over and took him away (Lame)..
